All of us would like to feel beautiful, but at what cost? The rituals that we live by day to day could be doing more harm to our face, than good. Don’t be lazy when it comes to your face. Treat it well instead.
Here are some tips to follow to allow your true beauty to shine.
#1) Sleeping in Makeup
Sleeping in makeup is a major no-no. If you feel to tired to wash your face before you slumber, opt for moist wipes that are made for such.
#2) Skipping Sunscreen in the Winter
Although the sun is lower, you still need sunscreen, especially if you plan to be outside all day.
#3) Wearing the Wrong Foundation Shade
Choose the right foundation to blend flawlessly into your natural skin tone for a seamless finish. If you have an uneven complexion, you can opt to wear concealer.
#4) Using Expired Mascara
Old mascara Is filled with bacteria, so be sure to swap it out at least every 3 months if you want to avoid pink eye.
#5) Over plucking
Fuller eyebrows are youthful and better flatter your face. If you must prune your eyebrows, just tweaze the first layer for a natural look. Anything over that boundary and you run the risk of looking perpetually surprised.
#6) Bleaching
Bleaching, it’s a precarious situation. You can either look avane garde or like Mona Lisa. When it comes to the eyebrows, there really isn’t any other direction to go.
#7) Using Dirty Makeup Brushes
Applying makeup with filthy brushes is like wiping your face with a used trash bag. Wash with warm soapy water, weekly to avoid bacteria buildup.
#8) Mismatched Liner
Liner that matches your hair color is never a good look.
#9) Botox
wrinkle-free skin can be obtained in other ways, like staying out of the sun and protecting your skin.
#10) Smoking Cigarettes
Nothing good ever comes from smoking. You’re not doing your looks any favors either.
11.) Picking Pimples
Picking pimples causes bacteria to go even deeper into your skin causing scarring and pits. Not pretty.

I am amazed at how much hair some people will pluck out of their eyebrows. If you don’t know the proper way to pluck your eyebrows, let a professional do it.
I’m guilty of not throwing my makeup out after three months. I will use it until it’s empty because I find it so expensive to buy. You can’t use cheap makeup because it just doesn’t go on right or stay on.
I didn’t know that you could get pink eye from using expired mascara. I will certainly look at all of mine now. That is one thing I don’t look at all that often.
I didn’t know you should throw it out after three months. I definitely don’t do this. I do change my makeup brushes every three months.
So true! I might pluck a stray here or there but I let my hairdresser do most of the work. I have some friends that wax their own. Not me, not ever.
You can get a nasty infection from old makeup since it sometimes ends up with bacteria mixed in. I know the beauty counter person will tell you that makeup expires after a few months of use. My mascara usually only lasts a few months anyway.
This amazes me. I had no idea that bacteria could get in makeup. I guess it’s logical, but certainly not something you would think about. Thank you for this tip!
To me, the use of sunscreen is the most important thing you can do. I never thought of that when I was young, and now I surely regret it. I can promise you, basal cell skin cancers and age spots will be in your future without it.
This article made me laugh! Everything you mentioned is so right, but some of the pictures were funny. I don’t know how many women I see with the mismatched liner, or the overfilling. I hope they read your article and realize how it looks.
I have to be honest and say that I laugh when I see people with mismatched lip liner on. It looks so nasty! I hope they see this article too.
Thanks for the information. I need to go home and check out my makeup. So you should only keep everything three months? I don’t always wear mascara so I sew myself tossing it out often.
